Driving Directions
From North or Southern New Jersey
Take the Garden State Parkway North or South to Exit 105 East toward Eatontown/Long Branch. You will be on Route 36 East. Stay on Route 36 (becomes Joline Avenue) to the end which is Ocean Avenue. (approx. 5 miles). When you reach Ocean Avenue, turn right (South). You will pass the Ocean Plaza Hotel, San Alfonso Retreat Center (to your left) and St. Michael's Church (to your right) (approx. 3 miles) Look for the blue Stella Maris sign on the left and turn into the driveway.
From the West Trenton/Princeton/Philadelphia area
Take Route 195 East which becomes 138 East to Route 18 North. Take Exit 11 (Deal Road East). You will cross Route 35. At the end of Deal Road, turn left onto Monmouth Road. Go to the first traffic light (Getty Gas Station). Make a right and proceed to Ocean Avenue. (two traffic lights.) At Ocean Avenue, turn left. Go approx. 1 mile and look for blue the Stella Maris' sign on the right.
Bus Service from New York City
From Port Authority in New York City, take the Academy Bus Line Service to:(Asbury Park-Point-Pleasant Line) West End, New Jersey. Ask the bus driver to stop in front of Stella Maris Retreat Center, 981 Ocean Avenue, NJ 07740
From Newark Airport
In Newark Airport Terminal look for Air Train (mono rail) to the NJ Transit Shore Area Train. Purchase ticket before entering NJ Transit Train. Exit train at Long Branch. Take a taxi (approx. 3 miles) to Stella Maris Retreat Center.
Note: If using Map Quest or a similar search for driving directions, use Long Branch, not Elberon as the town. Elberon is a section of Long Branch and is sometimes not recognized by the search. The zip code remains 07740.
